Premier League Final Weekend Betting Preview, Predictions & Offers

The final weekend of the Premier League season is here, and the title will be decided on Sunday. Manchester City holds the upper hand, but Liverpool can still snatch it from them on the final day, and we look set for a very nervy 90 minutes for fans of both those teams.

Elsewhere, everything else is already confirmed, other than the tiny chance that Arsenal could get into the top four, although that would need them to win, Tottenham to lose and a big swing in goal difference. The relegation battle is over, Wolves have claimed the top six and Chelsea are assured of a place in the top four, so many teams have nothing on the line this weekend.

All games will kick off at 3 pm on Sunday this weekend, so no teams can gain an advantage based on what others have already done, ensuring everyone will finish at roughly the same time.

Premier League Title Permutations

Here are the possible scenarios that could happen regarding the Premier League title this weekend:

  • If Manchester City win, they are crowned champions
  • If Manchester City draw, Liverpool are crowned champions with a win
  • If Manchester City lose, Liverpool are crowned champions with a win
  • If Manchester City lose and Liverpool draw, it will come down to goal difference, Manchester City need to lose by five or more to lose the title
  • If Liverpool lose then Manchester City win the title regardless of their result

Premier League Title Chase Previews

Brighton vs Manchester City – Sunday 3 pm

A few weeks ago, there was a chance that Brighton would be playing this game needing something to help their survival in the Premier League, but that has not turned out to be the case. This is good news for Manchester City, as the game would take on a completely different look if Brighton were fighting for their lives and needing a point from the game to survive.

I’m not saying that Brighton will take things easy on City, but when you are playing in a game that means everything, compared to playing in a game that means nothing, you will approach it differently.

Having said all of that, regardless of what Brighton do on the day, I see City being far too strong for them and coming out on top. We saw City struggle to dispatch of Leicester a little on Monday night, but just like champions do, they came through in the end. This looks to be an easier task for them, and surely they have the quality to score past Brighton and take all three points from the game.

City have been here before, everything is on the line for them and I believe they will come out on top, take home three points and the Premier League title.

Liverpool vs Wolves – Sunday 3 pm

Perhaps the worst thing that Liverpool can do this weekend is to even think about Manchester City and what they are doing away at Brighton. Instead, they need sole focus on this game, as it won’t be an easy one when they entertain Wolves at Anfield.

Wolves have already sewn up 7th position so that is them safe at the best team outside of the top six, incredibly in their first season back in the Premier League. They have nothing to play for other than pride but would love to go out with a bang here I’m sure.

Something else Liverpool have to contend with is the come down after what was a magical night at Anfield on Tuesday. They performed miracles to beat Barcelona in that game and reach the final of the Champions League, and this is something else that could take their focus away.

A fully switched on Liverpool at home with everything on the line can be too strong for Wolves here, and I fancy them to record another victory to round off the season. I think City will win, so this won’t be enough for Liverpool to lift the title, but I fancy them to make their rivals City work for it and force them to win at Brighton.

Final Day Predictions

Brighton 0-2 Manchester City

Burnley 1-1 Arsenal

Crystal Palace 2-1 Bournemouth

Fulham 2-2 Newcastle

Leicester 3-2 Chelsea

Liverpool 3-1 Wolves

Manchester United 3-0 Cardiff

Southampton 1-0 Huddersfield

Tottenham 1-1 Everton

Watford 1-0 West Ham

Premier League Betting Odds

As far as the title race goes, the bookmakers think the trophy will once again be heading to Manchester. They have City priced up at 1/10 to take home the title on the final day of the season, with challengers Liverpool priced up at 6/1 to snatch it from the current holders on the final day.

When it comes to betting on the individual games on the final day, I expect both Manchester City and Liverpool to be popular with accumulator punters. As you would expect, they are both odds on to win their games, with City priced up at 2/13 to beat Brighton and Liverpool available at 3/10 to get the better of Wolves at Anfield.

Those looking to bet on the other games this Sunday with an accumulator will be drawn straight to Manchester United. Although they have not been in the best of form recently, they are a class above Cardiff and with the Welsh side already relegated, surely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can record a win on his final game of the season? The Red Devils are priced up at 2/9 to beat their opponents. Elsewhere, Huddersfield have been poor all season, something that made them the first club to be relegated and well adrift at the bottom of the table. They head to Southampton and The Saints are also likely to be popular, available at 2/5.

Those looking for a little value on the final day of the season may be tempted by Leicester to beat Chelsea. The Foxes put up a good display against Manchester City last Monday, and with Chelsea having to play in Europe on Thursday night, this could be a chance for Leicester to record one final big win of the season. They are a generous 2/1 to beat The Blues, which could look a huge price at 4:45 pm when the final scores come in.
