FA Cup Final Predictions, Betting Odds & Tips

The final game of the season for both Chelsea and Manchester United is the FA Cup final this weekend. Both teams will be desperate to finish the season off well and send their fans home happy going into the summer break. This is one last chance to claim bragging rights for both of them, and the game looks like it could go either way with the bookies struggling to split them right now.

If there is one team that wants this more than the other then it is likely to be Chelsea after what has been a poor campaign by their very high standards. They only managed to finish 5th in the league, falling out of the top four and that won’t have gone down well with their fans. They have a lot of work to do over the summer, but an FA Cup win would make things slightly easier for them.

Manchester United finished 2nd in the Premier League behind Manchester City in what was a relatively stable season for them. Their aim next season is to close the gap on City, and winning the FA Cup will give them a momentum boost as they go into the summer.

Our Predictions

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Where Can I Watch the Game on TV?

Chelsea vs Manchester United – Saturday 17:15 pm, BBC One and BT Sport 2

I don’t think we will see too many goals in this game, with both teams looking to play a conservative style to ensure they don’t make any drastic mistakes that cost them the game. That is going to make this a cagey game, and we may not see too many chances for either side throughout the 90 minutes. The difference maker here will be who can take advantage of the chances they get and put one in the back of the net.

When I look down the two line-ups, I see more match winners in the Chelsea line up and that is why I think they will nick it. Alongside that, they also have Olivier Giroud, a player who has a fantastic goal scoring record at Wembley and one who knows all about scoring important goals. With a player like Giroud in attack, you may only need one chance to score and he can be the difference between these two teams. I like and respect United, but if we don’t see many chances in the game I think Chelsea have more chance of putting one away with the likes of Giroud playing for them.

Betting Odds

Betting on the FA Cup is always very popular and this weekend is going to be no different for punters. From the standard 90-minute betting market to who will score first, the correct score and if the game will go to extra time and penalties, there is plenty to choose from when you are looking for a bet.

The bookmakers are struggling to split these two, and all three outcomes are very closely matched. Both Chelsea (19/10) and Manchester United (9/5) are as close as they can get in the betting, with Manchester United having the slight edge. The draw (21/10) is also close to them and this is about as even as a football game can get in terms of betting, showing just how tight this is expected to be.

Many people think this game will be low scoring and that is going to make the correct scoreline of 1-0 a very popular bet. Chelsea to win 1-0 is a best price 13/2 while Manchester United to win by the same scoreline is 6/1.

When it comes to goal scorers, I expect to see Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez as the two most popular players. Both can be backed at 13/2 to score the first goal of the game, or 5/2 to score at any time during the game if you want an interest throughout. Eden Hazard is the 5/1 favourite, while Manchester United strikers Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford are both 6/1.

With these two looking very closely matched it would be no surprise to see this game go to extra time or penalties. If you think Chelsea can win the game in extra time they can be backed at 11/1, while Chelsea to win on penalties can be backed at 10/1. Manchester United are 10/1 to win in extra time and also 10/1 to win on penalties, these are bets to consider if you think the game is going to be close.

This offer is one that has been running for a while now with Betfred and it is a great way for new and existing customers to place a bet on the first goalscorer market. When you place your bet, should your player score the first goal you will be given the returns as normal. However, should that player score a second goal in the game you will be paid out at double the odds and if he scores a third you will receive treble the odds. This is a great offer and can bring a nice payout if your chosen player scores multiple goals.

Coral – Free bets when goals are scored by your team

If you are a new or an existing customer to Coral you can take advantage of this offer and it is a great way to place a bet and potentially be paid out much more than your winnings. To qualify for this offer you must place a bet of at least £10 on either Chelsea or Manchester United to win the game in 90 minutes. When you have done this you will be given a £5 free bet for every goal that they score during the 90 minutes. For example, back Chelsea to win and they do so 3-0, not only will you be paid out as a winner on the Chelsea bet you placed but you will also be given £15 worth of free bets to spend in the 24 hours after the game. This is a great offer and if the game is high scoring you could receive a great deal.
